Senior assistant teacher Tozammel Hoque, MA, of Bandiara High School in Thakurgaon’s Pirganj upazila, was given an emotional send-off after a long career of 31 years in teaching. A farewell ceremony was organised at the school to honour his long, dedicated career. At the ceremony, held Thursday (September 17) morning and organised by school authorities, teachers, students, parents and well-wishers gathered to bid him a respectful farewell.
He was presented with a memento and gifts in recognition of his contribution to his long teaching career, along with wishes for good health and a long retirement. Finally, with tears in their eyes, colleagues and students escorted him home by horse cart.
According to school sources, Tozammel Hoque joined Bandiara High School as a teacher on June 29, 1995. Since then, he taught students with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility for a long period. Over the course of his career, countless students learned from him. This kind of farewell reception from colleagues and students, at the close of his long teaching life, will remain an unforgettable golden memory of Tozammel Hoque’s career.
