Two people died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while 1,056 new dengue patients were hospitalised across the country during the same period.
The information was released Saturday (September 12) in a dengue-related bulletin from the Directorate General of Health Services’ Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room.
The bulletin said that of the patients hospitalised with dengue in the past 24 hours, 144 were in Barishal division, 103 in Chattogram division, 251 in Dhaka division (outside city corporations), 108 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 76 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 199 in Khulna division, 48 in Mymensingh division, 73 in Rajshahi division, 47 in Rangpur division and 7 in Sylhet division. This takes the death toll for the year to 143. During this period, 50,276 people have been hospitalised with dengue.
