Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized roughly 3.9 million taka worth of illegal goods in a special anti-smuggling and anti-narcotics operation at the Chuadanga border.
Separate operations were conducted Saturday, August 29, in border areas under the Chuadanga Battalion (6 BGB).
According to BGB, acting on tip-off intelligence, patrol teams from Fulbari, Anandabas, Nazirakona and Baradi BOPs, under the Chuadanga Battalion, conducted separate operations in border areas. The operation recovered 2 kilograms of Indian cannabis, 70 bottles of Indian liquor, 6,000 pieces of Indian cyproheptadine tablets, 5,100 pieces of Indian dexamethasone tablets, 696 pieces of Indian sildenafil tablets, and 56 pieces of Indian cosmetics. The estimated value of the seized goods is 3,902,760 taka.
Chuadanga Battalion (6 BGB) Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Md Nazmul Hasan said: “BGB remains constantly alert and active in ensuring border security and preventing drugs and smuggling. BGB is working with the utmost professionalism, responsibility and sincerity to prevent drugs, smuggling and other illegal activities in border areas.”
He further said: “BGB will continue such operations to keep the border safe and free of crime.”
