Palestinian Civil Defense has recovered the bodies and remains of 55 people from the rubble of a building in the Zeitoun area of Gaza City. All of those killed were members of the Malka family.
Palestinian Civil Defense said search efforts had been underway for 72 hours for the bodies of more than 60 members of the Malka family. The remains of most of them have now been found.
Members of the Malka family had taken shelter in the building nearly two years ago during Israeli bombardment.
Authorities said a joint funeral for the Malka family members is expected to be held early next week, following the recovery of the bodies and remains.
