Democrats have won majorities in both houses of Congress in the US midterm elections. Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has reacted to the result.
In a post on the social media platform X, Ghalibaf said: “Whether driven by conscience or by the rising cost of living, the American people have voted ‘no’ to war. We support their message.”
He added: “If the US government ignores the will of the people and acts to protect the interests of international power circles and blackmailers, it will understand what a nightmare our ‘no’ can become.”
