Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, said the response to any new attack on the country would be “faster, heavier and more painful.” He issued the warning in a speech to parliament Sunday, according to Al Jazeera.
Qalibaf stressed that the response to any U.S. attack would no longer be “proportional.” He added, “The Americans surely understand that the era of ‘proportional response’ is over.”
He said, “Our recent operations against the aggressors’ bases were only the beginning. If they still don’t understand that, they need to understand, before it’s too late, that the rules of the game have changed.”
He said Iran would defeat the United States’ economic offensive just as it defeated it militarily and diplomatically.
