Citing various sources, Geo News reported that his father, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, has traveled to Liechtenstein with other family members to discuss and set a date for Bilawal’s wedding. According to the rumors, Bilawal could marry later this year. His rumored fiancée is also claimed to be a resident of Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein.
However, the PPP has directly denied these reports. Bilawal’s spokesperson and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab said on social media that reports circulating about the PPP chairman’s engagement or marriage are false and baseless. Neither Bilawal nor his family has made any official announcement regarding an engagement or marriage so far.
As a result, these claims spreading on social media remain unverified. Liechtenstein is a small sovereign state in Western Europe, located between Switzerland and Austria. Its capital, Vaduz, is the country’s political and administrative center. Bilawal has spoken publicly about marriage in the past, but has never specified a prospective life partner or wedding date.
In 2022, during the UN General Assembly’s 77th session, a journalist asked Bilawal about his marriage plans. Laughing, the then-Pakistani foreign minister said, “Of course, I have marriage plans,” but gave no specific answer on when he would marry. Even earlier, in 2016, speaking about marriage, Bilawal said his future wife would first have to win over his sisters. He said at the time: “The right candidate will first have to win over my sisters. She’ll have to earn their trust. And winning over my sisters is a very difficult task for any woman.” However, no official basis has yet been found for the rumors now circulating about a purported wedding arrangement in Liechtenstein.
