A 17-year-old boy known as Sabuj has died under mysterious circumstances in Jamalpur’s Bakshiganj. The incident took place at dawn on Thursday (September 17) in Charkawria Paschimpara village in the municipality.
According to family sources, Sabuj suddenly fell ill and became restless at dawn. Hearing his mother’s cries, neighbours rushed over and rescued him, but he died on the way to the upazila health complex. Locals allege Sabuj had long struggled with drug addiction, though the actual cause of death remains unknown.
Bakshiganj police station OC Makbul Hossain said police have recovered the body, and the exact cause of death will be known once the post-mortem report is received. Legal proceedings over the incident are under way.
