Eight people died of dengue in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 1,733 people were hospitalised with dengue across the country.
The information was released Monday in a dengue-related press statement from the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
It said that among dengue patients hospitalised in the past 24 hours, 191 were in Barishal division, 191 in Chattogram division, 388 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporations), 170 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 143 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 302 in Khulna division, 110 in Mymensingh division, 145 in Rajshahi division, 86 in Rangpur division, and seven in Sylhet division.
This brings this year’s dengue death toll to 157. A total of 53,570 people have been hospitalised with dengue so far this year.
