British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband has said what is happening in Gaza is horrifying.
In a video posted on Instagram, he said he had met with several people about the situation in Gaza who had been there or were still on the ground. He said he heard from them about the severity of the situation.
“Honestly, what’s happening there is horrifying,” Miliband said.
He said he was also told in the meeting that urgent medicine is being blocked from reaching Gaza. He said he had received information that children awaiting critical life-saving treatment are dying.
The British foreign secretary said the UK government must take action over the situation in Gaza, and that everyone in government, including the prime minister, must come forward more firmly than before.
“As a UK government, under the prime minister, we have to take action, and we have to act more firmly than we have so far,” he said.
