Bangladesh received $2.455 billion in remittances in the first 26 days of August, up 22.3 percent from the same period last year.
According to the latest Bangladesh Bank data, remittances totaled $2.007 billion in the country from August 1-26 last year. In the same period this year, remittances have risen to $2.455 billion.
According to the data, expatriates sent $115 million to the country on August 25 and 26 alone.
Meanwhile, from July 1 through August 26 of the current 2026-27 fiscal year, the country has received a total of $5.314 billion in remittances. In the same period of the 2025-26 fiscal year, remittances totaled $4.485 billion.
As a result, remittance inflows through August 26 of the current fiscal year have grown 18.5 percent compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year.
