Airstrikes have targeted several arms depots belonging to Houthi rebels in Yemen’s Marib province. Local media reported on Tuesday (September 15) that the strikes hit Marib’s al-Jubah district, though no specific information on casualties or damage was immediately available.
Alongside this, government forces thwarted an attempted Houthi infiltration in Marib’s Harib district. In a separate incident, a warplane bombed a ballistic missile launch pad at Taiz airport. An airstrike was also reported during a meeting of Houthi leaders at a local council building east of Taiz.
The strikes are part of ongoing intense fighting between government forces and Houthi rebels. Over the past several weeks, the government coalition has been carrying out regular strikes targeting Houthi positions and missile-launch sites in the Taiz and Marib provinces.
The long-running conflict in Yemen began after the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, in 2014.
