Iran urges Japanese public to hold government accountable over US ‘crimes’

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said the people of Japan should hold their government accountable for “participating in the crimes” of the United States. The report is from Al Jazeera.

He also questioned the use of US military installations on Japanese territory for operations in other parts of the world.

Citing Fars News Agency, Araghchi said: “The government of Japan is responsible for the use of installations located in this country.”

He made the remarks in response to reports that US F-16 fighter jets had been sent to the Middle East from Japan’s Misawa Air Base for strikes on Iran.

Araghchi also questioned the Japanese government’s role in how US military bases and installations on Japanese territory are being used in American military operations.
