100 bodies recovered from rubble in Gaza, mass burial prepared

About 100 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble in Gaza City’s Zeitoun area. Most of the bodies recovered are children. Preparations are now underway for a mass burial.

Israeli forces have repeatedly struck the Zeitoun area over the past three years. On Nov. 19, 2023, Israeli forces bombed several residential buildings in the area. Those who survived and later took shelter in these buildings were struck again in the following months. The bodies of those killed in these strikes remained buried under the rubble, and around 100 have now been recovered after a long time.

A Gaza Civil Defense official confirmed the information.

He said most of the recovered bodies are children’s. Following the recovery, preparations are now underway in Zeitoun for a mass burial, along with a funeral procession for the deceased.

According to information from the scene, Israeli forces have continued striking the Zeitoun area, where burial preparations are now underway, for nearly three years.
