Technology company Apple has renamed Lake Ontario “Lake America” in its Maps app for users in the United States, following direct intervention from U.S. President Donald Trump.
The change was made to Apple Maps on Tuesday, the same day John Ternus took over as Apple’s new chief executive officer.
Apple is the second major U.S. tech company to comply with Trump’s controversial executive order on the name change. Google had earlier announced on Saturday that it would show Lake Ontario as “Lake America” for U.S. users on the popular Google Maps.
