Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has handed job appointment letters to 74 members of families affected by enforced disappearances and to families of those martyred or injured in the July uprising.
The appointment letters were presented to them at an event held Saturday afternoon at Korobi Hall in the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon. The prime minister personally handed appointment letters to 10 of them.
Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atikur Rahman Rumen said 74 members of families affected by enforced disappearances, and families of those martyred or injured in the July uprising, were given job appointment letters today. Of these, the prime minister personally handed appointment letters to 10 people.
Among those who received appointment letters were Ishfaq Ahmed, brother of enforced-disappearance victim Iftekhar Ahmed Dinar; Manirujjaman Hira, brother of Nurujjaman Joni; Anan Hossain Noor, brother of Anwar Hossain Mahbub; Hasnain Reza, brother of Selim Reza Pintu; and Shammi Sultana, wife of Khaled Hossain Sohel.
Also receiving appointment letters were blind July-uprising fighter Alal Ahmed, who was injured in the uprising; Md Abul Hossain, father of martyr Alvi; Jartaj Parvin, mother of martyr Ahnaf; injured fighter Kazi Saimum Siraj; and Mahbub Alam, brother of Israfil Islam, among many others.
Several of those who received appointments expressed gratitude to the prime minister. They also demanded justice against those involved in enforced disappearances and killings.
The event was conducted by Atikur Rahman Rumen, convener of “Amra BNP Paribar” and additional press secretary to the prime minister.
Those present at the event included Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani; the prime minister’s Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar; the prime minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibli; Deputy Press Secretaries Zahidul Islam Rony, Hasan Shiplu, Sujauddowla and Shahadat Shadhin; Assistant Press Secretaries A.K.M. Nazmul Haque and Shahriar Pamir; and “BNP Amar Paribar” member Moksedul Momin Mithun, among others.
