A company sales representative, Salman, 23, has been shot and wounded in Khulna city, and the attackers snatched his laptop bag and fled.
The incident happened at about 11:10am on Tuesday, October 27, in front of Nasim Traders, on the south side of Tamanna Tower on Road 17 of the city’s Nirala residential area.
Salman, son of Jahangir, lives in the Sabujbagh area on Road 17 of Nirala. He works for a cigarette company.
According to eyewitnesses and initial information, four men arrived on two motorcycles and fired at Salman. A bullet hit him on the right side of his stomach. The attackers then grabbed his laptop bag and sped away. Colleagues took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where he is being treated.
Khulna Sadar police station OC Md Lokman Hossain Ripon and other senior police officers visited the scene.
The OC said: “We cannot say for certain why Salman was shot. CCTV footage from around the scene is being collected.”
