Low-pressure system likely to form within 24 hours over Andaman Sea, met office says

DHAKA — A low-pressure system is likely to form over the southern Andaman Sea and adjoining areas within the next 24 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said. The system may move west-northwest and gradually intensify.

The seasonal low currently positioned over the southern Bay of Bengal has extended its trough up to the northern Bay of Bengal, the department said.

The forecast was issued Saturday (November 22) by Meteorologist Dr. Md. Omar Faruk of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Weather across the country is likely to remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies until 9 a.m. Sunday, the department said. Light to moderate fog may form in places early in the morning. Night temperatures may fall slightly while day temperatures remain nearly unchanged.

For the 24 hours from 9 a.m. Sunday (November 23), the weather is likely to remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. Night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.

For the 24 hours from 9 a.m. Monday (November 24), the weather is likely to remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. Night temperatures may fall by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius and day temperatures may fall slightly.

For the 24 hours from 9 a.m. Tuesday (November 25), the weather is likely to remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. Night temperatures may fall slightly and day temperatures may fall by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

For the 24 hours from 9 a.m. Wednesday (November 26), the weather is likely to remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. Night and day temperatures may fall slightly. No significant change is expected beyond that, the weather office said.
