Eid gifts were distributed to 400 underprivileged and low-income people in the Kashipur union of Narail’s Lohagara upazila ahead of Eid ul-Adha. Union Parishad chairman candidate Atikul Islam handed out the gifts at the Erenda Bus Stand playground on the Narail-Dhaka highway on Tuesday afternoon. The gifts included semolina, sugar, 10 kg of rice, oil, potatoes, onions and garlic.
Low-income residents who received the items expressed gratitude. Beneficiaries praised the gesture ahead of Eid.
Aminul Islam, chairman of the Voice of Insaaf Foundation; Nawsher Ali, vice-principal of Kalia Alim Madrasa; homoeopath Ibrahim Sikder; Sardar Shamim Ahmed; Abdur Rahim; Qais Ahmed Ishaq; and Mohammad Tafhim, among others, attended.
