Two brothers were killed by lightning in Morrelganj, in Bangladesh’s Bagerhat district.
The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon while the two were doing farm work in a field behind the Mohishpura police camp in the upazila.
The victims were identified as Bidhan Bachar, 55, and Manik Bachar, 40, sons of Moniranjan Bachar of Shaulkhali village.
Morrelganj police station Officer-in-Charge Md Shahidullah confirmed the deaths of the two brothers.
Morrelganj Upazila Executive Officer Md Habibullah said that after learning of the deaths, the district administration was informed and a representative was sent to the scene. He said initial arrangements were being made to provide financial assistance to the family.
