Jamaat-e-Islami’s Chaugachha upazila unit in Jashore held a street rally and procession on Friday in support of the party’s long march on 31 October.
The procession, organised by the upazila unit, went round the main roads of the town on Friday afternoon. It ended with a street rally at the town’s press club grounds, chaired by upazila Jamaat ameer Maulana Golam Morshed. Dr Mosleh Uddin Farid, MP for the Jashore-2 (Chaugachha-Jhikargachha) constituency, spoke as chief guest.
Other speakers included upazila Jamaat naib-e-ameer Maulana Nurul Islam, secretary Maulana Nuruzzaman Al Mamun, assistant secretaries Master Kamal Ahmed Biswas and Master Rahidul Islam Khan, Maulana Giasuddin, municipal Jamaat ameer Maulana Abdul Khaleque and secretary Dr Zillur Rahman.
