The central committee of Chhatra Dal has expelled Anjuman Ikra, a Chhatra Dal leader at Jahangirnagar University (JU), from primary membership over alleged breach of organisational discipline.
The decision was announced on Thursday (September 24) in a press release from Chhatra Dal’s central office, signed by office secretary (vice-president rank) Md Jahangir Alam.
The release said that, in line with a decision of the central committee, Anjuman Ikra of the JU unit had been expelled from primary membership on the basis of specific allegations of breaching organisational discipline.
The decision was approved by Chhatra Dal central president Rakibul Islam Rakib and general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, the release said. It did not say what Anjuman Ikra was accused of or what incident led to the action.
“I have seen it too, but I have not yet been able to find out why she was expelled,” said Wasim Ahmed Anik, member secretary of the JU Chhatra Dal convening committee.
Anjuman Ikra is a 2019-20 session student in JU’s computer science and engineering department. In the last JUCSU election she was the Chhatra Dal panel’s candidate for assistant general secretary (AGS).
