Additional Attorney General Muhammad Abdul Jabbar Bhuiyan has resigned. He submitted his resignation letter Monday (Sept. 7). He reportedly cited personal reasons in submitting his resignation to the Attorney General’s office administrative officer.
Three other law officers also resigned from the Attorney General’s office the same day: Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Mamun Chowdhury, and Assistant Attorneys General (AAG) Rohani Siddika and Projjwal Chakma.
Confirming his resignation, Additional Attorney General Muhammad Abdul Jabbar Bhuiyan told media, “Citing personal reasons, I sent my resignation letter to the president through the Law Ministry around 3 p.m.”
Earlier, Assistant Attorney General Md. Nurul Karim had resigned, submitting his resignation letter to the law minister after facing allegations of ties to Awami League politics.
Muhammad Abdul Jabbar Bhuiyan was appointed additional attorney general on Aug. 13, 2024, alongside Mohammad Arshadur Rouf and Mohammad Anik Rushd Haque. They were to serve until the president ordered otherwise.
