Students in Raipur, Lakshmipur, who passed the SSC, dakhil and equivalent examinations have been honoured at a felicitation ceremony.
The event was organised by the 8 No South Charbangshi Development Forum on Friday morning (September 25) in the hall of Charbangshi LKH Upakul High School.
Chaired by Master Lutfor Rahman, it was addressed as chief guest by Dr Rezaul Karim, a member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive council and secretary of its Dhaka Metropolitan South unit.
“Students must hold on to the success they have achieved and focus on higher education,” he said. “By combining knowledge and ethics, they must build themselves into worthy citizens and work for the welfare of the country and the nation.”
He urged the students to use their talents to contribute to the development of society and the country.
The main speaker was Lakshmipur district Jamaat amir Master Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan. Special guests included Raipur upazila Jamaat amir Maulana Syed Nazmul Huda and secretary Advocate Abdul Awal Russell; Advocate Fazlul Karim, a candidate for chairman of 8 No South Charbangshi union; Maulana Hossain, a candidate for chairman of 2 No North Charbangshi union and secretary of the upazila youth wing; LKH Upakul High School headteacher Master Mizanur Rahman; and union Jamaat secretary Maulana Shamsuddin Samdani and assistant secretary Gazi MA Siddique.
Crests were then presented to the students who had passed the SSC, dakhil and equivalent examinations.
