Five hundred very poor patients from coastal areas of Anwara, Chattogram, have received free treatment, medicines and glasses at a health camp. Ninety of them also received 500 taka each in financial help from a zakat fund.
The health camp was held on Friday (September 25) on the grounds of Gohira Mohammadia Dakhil Madrasa in the upazila, jointly organised by Needy Foundation and the Agrabad branch of Islami Bank Hospital.
Patients were treated for medical, gynaecological, paediatric, skin, eye and dental problems, and were given the medicines they needed afterwards, with free glasses for eye patients.
Present were Islami Bank Hospital Agrabad branch assistant superintendent Abdul Aziz Riad, accounts officer Ikramul Haque, marketing officer Sam Mohammad, administrative officers Helal Uddin and Md Rakib Hossain; Needy Foundation chairman Md Alam Khan, adviser Kamal Hossain, secretary general Azam Qutubi and project director Hafez Md Ishaq; zakat donors Irfanul Karim Emon, Mostafa Kamal, Iqbal Hossain Sifu and Md Nasir; Advocate Abu Zafar Md Sadek Chowdhury; and Monir Member.
