TEHRAN — Iran will not accept any kind of temporary cease-fire proposal, Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said, adding that Tehran is seeking a permanent and complete end to the conflict across the entire region.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Khatibzadeh said any potential cease-fire deal must cover all conflict zones from Lebanon to the Red Sea. For Iran, he said, this is a “red line” — a non-negotiable condition.

He added that Iran does not believe in partial or temporary solutions and that the cycle of conflict must be ended permanently now.

On the security and status of the Strait of Hormuz, the deputy foreign minister said the waterway had historically been open. Although it lies within Iranian waters, he said, it has long been kept open for international navigation.

Khatibzadeh blamed the United States and Israel for the unstable situation, saying their actions were fueling instability in the region. The negative activities of these two countries are currently having an adverse impact on world trade and the overall economy, he said.
