He had come to his in-laws’ house as he normally would — perhaps meaning to spend some time with the family before heading back. But moments after climbing a coconut tree to pick green coconuts, tragedy struck. A young man named Rasedul, 28, died after falling from the tree.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in Shibnagar village, Chougachha upazila, Jashore. Rasedul was the son-in-law of Rejaul Islam of that village, and the son of Rafiuddin of Kayemkola village in Jhikargachha upazila.
Locals said that while at his in-laws’ house in the afternoon, Rasedul climbed a coconut tree to pick green coconuts. While picking them, he suddenly fell to the ground and was critically injured. Family members and locals quickly rescued him and took him to Chougachha Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctor declared him dead.
Chougachha police station Officer-in-Charge Mamunur Rashid confirmed the incident.
