Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has said a special committee has been formed under the Cabinet Division to simplify the visa process for students interested in pursuing higher education abroad.
The minister disclosed this Sunday, August 30, after a meeting with the foreign minister and Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen. The education minister said problems in obtaining student visas have decreased compared with before. Initiatives have been taken to further simplify the visa process, both to develop the skills of the country’s students and to bring skilled teachers from China.
Noting that a recent visit to China had produced plans for special opportunities to develop students’ technical skills, Dr Milon said that as part of this initiative, the government will also launch a teacher-exchange program with China to improve teachers’ language proficiency.
The education minister said the China education-sector exchange program would become visible within the next one to one and a half months. Through it, alongside developing the skills of students and teachers, education cooperation between the two countries would further expand.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman, the prime minister’s education adviser Dr Mahdi Amin, and Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen.
