The National Teacher Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) will retain its previous three-stage examination method for teacher recruitment, it has been learned. An initiative has been taken to finalize the proposal for holding recruitment exams in three stages — preliminary, written and oral — and issue it as a circular. The circular will soon be sent to the ministry for approval.
The matter was discussed at a meeting on the issue held Tuesday, September 1, at the education ministry’s Secondary and Higher Education Division. The information comes from meeting sources.
The meeting discussed syllabus approval. It also discussed holding the exam in three stages — preliminary, written and viva — rather than going directly to a viva after the preliminary exam. A revised circular proposal, with certain changes on the matter, will be sent to the ministry.
Earlier, a meeting was held today, Tuesday, at 11 a.m. to issue, as a circular, the revised procedure to be followed for the National Teacher Registration and Certification Authority’s (NTRCA) teacher recruitment recommendations, and to approve the recruitment exam syllabus. The meeting was chaired by Secondary and Higher Education Division secretary Abdul Khalek. It was held at the Secondary and Higher Education Division’s conference room. Officials from the education ministry, NTRCA and other relevant bodies attended.
