Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) chairman Dr Mahmudur Rahman has said the country’s fertiliser factories and buffer warehouses hold an adequate stock of urea fertiliser. He made the comment while inspecting BCIC fertiliser warehouses in Nilphamari, Mohendranagar (Lalmonirhat) and Kurigram on Monday.
The BCIC chairman assured the public not to panic over rumours or misleading information, saying the country holds an adequate stock of urea fertiliser. Enough urea to meet national demand is stored in warehouses through November. In addition, three local fertiliser factories are producing 5,000 tonnes of urea daily, and imports from abroad are ongoing, which will help meet demand during the upcoming peak season.
