The popular singer Robi Chowdhury drew wide attention this year after speaking on a podcast about the reasons for his separation from his former wife, Dolly Sayantoni. He claimed that, without his knowledge, Dolly had become involved in a relationship with a Korea-based driver. On learning of it, he said, he took the decision to divorce.
In a recent interview, Robi Chowdhury has now said the biggest mistake of his life was his first marriage. The artiste also said, however, that he no longer wishes to discuss the past.
In Robi Chowdhury’s words: “My first marriage was the biggest mistake of my life. If I had the chance I would want to erase that past completely. But that is not possible. So I do not want to talk about that past any more.”
Robi’s romantic relationship with the popular singer Dolly Sayantoni grew up in the late 1990s. Around 2000 they sang several popular duets together. Their closeness grew through their work, and in 2001 they married. Because of differences and quarrels in married life, however, their life together ended within a short time.
In the interview, questions also arose about Robi Chowdhury’s popular song “Kal Nagini.” Asked whether this song from the album “Ghurao Du Nayan” had been written about his former wife, Dolly Sayantoni, he kept up the mystery.
In a humorous vein, Robi Chowdhury said: “You do not always have to kill with a gun; sometimes you can kill with a pen. The song is written by me. But whom I wrote it about, I do not want to say now.”
