Pakistan and West Indies have been eliminated from the race to reach the World Test Championship final. Seven teams remain in contention, including Bangladesh — though each faces a different equation to get there.

The two top-ranked teams by points percentage qualify for the Test World Cup final. Here is where each team stands.

1) Australia (84 points, 77.78 percent)
Australia are in the strongest position. With nine matches remaining, Pat Cummins’s side need to win just five to secure their spot in the final.

2) South Africa (36 points, 75.00 percent)
Second-placed South Africa also have nine Tests remaining. Temba Bavuma’s side need to win six of them.

3) New Zealand (52 points, 72.22 percent)
Reigning champions New Zealand have eight matches left. Winning five would send them back to the final.

4) Bangladesh (40 points, 66.67 percent)
Bangladesh boosted their chances by beating Australia in the first Test. They need to win seven of their remaining nine Tests.

5) India (52 points, 48.15 percent)
Shubman Gill’s side have nine Tests remaining and need to win at least seven of them, or face missing the final once again.

6) Sri Lanka (20 points, 41.67 percent)
Of their remaining eight matches, Sri Lanka need to win five and draw two. Losing more than one Test would end their chances.

7) England (38 points, 24.36 percent)
England need to win every one of their remaining Tests to have a chance at the final.

All seven teams play each other in this period, meaning one team’s win comes at another’s expense — so the standings will shift after every match.
