A man named Yasin, 51, has been killed in a fight between two sides over a goat eating plants in Atrai upazila of Naogaon.
The incident took place on Monday (5 October) in Madhuban village of the upazila’s Panchupur union.
Local sources said a dispute arose between Yasin and another resident of the same village over a goat eating plants. The two sides first exchanged words, and at one stage this turned into a fight in which Yasin was seriously injured.
Local people later rescued him and took him to hospital for treatment, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Tension is prevailing in the area following the incident.
Atrai police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mahabub Alam said: “The incident is being investigated. Those involved will be identified and legal action will be taken subject to the investigation.”
