Sabila Nur is one of the most popular actresses of the present day. Three of her films have been released over three consecutive Eids. This Eid, her film “Rockstar” is playing in cinemas. Directed by Azman Russo, it pairs her with Shakib Khan for the second time.
In an interview on Wednesday (June 3), Sabila Nur spoke about “Rockstar” and various aspects of her acting and career. “Shakib Khan appears in a different character and style in every film,” she said. “In this film, his transformation has been even greater. The way Shakib bhai has presented himself here is many times more than anything he has done before. The film’s story is, of course, central to that, because the genre is also different. It is a musical romantic film. The chemistry between Shakib bhai and me is also of a different type here. There are also some other elements here that audiences have never seen before.”
She added: “This is certainly a matter of joy for me. I made my film debut with ‘Tandob.’ After that, I had the good fortune to act in films over two Eids. That is undoubtedly gratifying. Among these, I appeared opposite megastar Shakib Khan in two Eids and with Shariful Razz in another Eid. Audiences have received the films wonderfully. My characters have also been praised by audiences. That is a big achievement for me.”
Sabila said: “I am very fortunate, because I got the chance to play the character Mira in my second project with Shakib bhai, where there was scope to act. There is wonderful chemistry between Mira and the character Agun. Those who are watching the film are saying they like it. Although ‘Rockstar’ is a musical film, it is also a complete love story. I have been able to become the Mira of that film.”
“I rose from television dramas. That is my root. After that, I did several projects on OTT, which audiences received well. Then I came to films, and here too audiences have received me wonderfully. The preparation for each of these three platforms — drama, OTT and film — is different. Preparing for a film takes a long time, so it is not possible to work in dramas and OTT. That does not mean I have given up dramas altogether. The main thing is acting. That is what I want to keep doing,” Sabila said.
Asked which of ‘Tandob,’ ‘Bonolota Express’ and ‘Rockstar’ she would rank ahead, Sabila said: “All three are different kinds of films. ‘Tandob,’ for instance, is a commercial film, with a song like ‘Lichur Bagane,’ action and a thriller element. ‘Bonolota Express,’ again, is a completely different type. It cannot be compared with ‘Tandob’ in any way. The Mira of ‘Rockstar’ is entirely different from the Chitra of ‘Bonolota Express.’ So one cannot be compared with another. And all three films are mine. The stories of the films are also extraordinary. The technical side is also of a high standard. I would rank them all ahead.”
