The statement said it was being announced with a very heavy heart that Meghla Mukta had been in a terrible accident. She is currently in the ICU and preparations are under way for her surgery. It asked everyone to keep her in their prayers at this difficult time, adding that they hoped for successful surgery and a swift recovery.
The statement also asked her fans and well-wishers not to spread misinformation of any kind. It said no one should spread unverified information or rumours, and that any new update would be announced through the official page as soon as it was received.
Earlier, on 27 July, Meghla Mukta posted several pictures of a broken phone on Facebook and wrote that her phone had been badly damaged, that she would stay away from social media for some days, and that she could not be reached on Facebook or WhatsApp. For anything urgent or important, she asked people to call her number directly.
Meghla Mukta drew wider attention for her performance in the Telugu film “Sakala Kala Vallabhudu.” She began her career working on the ramp, and worked as a model on billboards and in music videos. Her films include “Payer Chhap,” “Kathgolap” and “Agunner Pakhi.”
