FARIDPUR — An ornate residence known as Haji Bari, in Narandia village in Faridpur’s Salthwa upazila, has become a magnet for travelers in addition to locals, drawn by its architecture, intricate design and eco-friendly surroundings.

Photos and videos of the house are widely shared on social media, Google Maps and various websites, and people travel from far and wide each day to see it, residents said.

Set in the quiet village environment, the property is reached via a finely designed bridge that connects to the main building. Artificial ponds and greenery flank both sides of the bridge, captivating visitors. The multistory main building blends modernity with tradition, with carved verandas, ornate railings, detailed adornment and color choices that give it a regal feel.

For locals, Haji Bari is more than a residence — it is a source of village pride. Many say structures of this kind present rural Bengal in a new light. Young people in particular come to take pictures, and images of the house regularly go viral on Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms, putting the area on the map.

Some visitors said spending time in such a scenic, quiet place is genuinely soothing after the noise of the city. Many come with their families to enjoy the property and take photos. Others see potential in it as a rural tourism destination.

Local civic-minded observers said planned tourism initiatives centered on Haji Bari could contribute to Salthwa upazila’s economic and cultural development and create employment for local youth.

Haji Bari in Narandia is no longer simply a private structure, residents said, but has become a focal point for those drawn to beauty. With its blend of architecture and natural setting, it has emerged as a notable attraction in Salthwa.
