PANCHAGARH — Minorities or smaller groups who face any threat, harassment or oppression from individuals, leaders or political parties should contact the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), Sarjis Alam, chief organizer of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, said on Saturday.

“If you are subject to any threat, harassment or oppression from any individual, leader or political party, contact us. We will stand with you,” Sarjis said as chief guest at a committee announcement and discussion event in Panchagarh’s Boda upazila.

Addressing his party workers, Sarjis said they would not pick fights but would not back down if challenged. “We will never step on anyone’s toes. But if anyone steps on ours, we will not let them off,” he said.

He urged supporters to back good work by anyone, regardless of party. “Whoever does good work, no matter which party they belong to, you will support them and cooperate with them. If we do not recognize good work as good, people will not be encouraged to do good,” he said.
