Youth detained with foreign pistol, 15 rounds in Chuadanga raid

CHUADANGA — Soldiers and police detained a 35-year-old man in Damurhuda with a foreign-made pistol, two magazines and 15 rounds of ammunition, officials said.

The joint force detained Saidur Rahman, 35, at his electronics shop next to the Damurhuda upazila parishad gate at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, July 31. They recovered one foreign pistol, two magazines and 15 rounds of ammunition. Saidur Rahman is the son of the late Kiyam Uddin, also known as Ghyana, of the city’s Brij Para neighborhood.

Sub-Inspector Himel Rana of Damurhuda Model Police Station said the army and the police detained Saidur from his home at 4:30 a.m. He later confessed, leading them to recover one foreign pistol, two magazines, 15 rounds of ammunition and two mobile phones from his electronics shop next to the upazila parishad gate.

Sub-Inspector Himel filed a case against Saidur under the arms act.
