MEHERPUR — Medicines, health supplies and furniture have been distributed to the Saharbati Union Health and Family Planning Center in Meherpur’s Gangni upazila, officials said.

The items distributed include 28 boxes of antacid tablets, 24 boxes of metronidazole tablets, 16 boxes of Napa Extra, 16 boxes of oral saline, 10 boxes of histacin, six chairs, one table, four blood-pressure machines and two weighing machines.

The distribution ceremony was held at the Saharbati Union Parishad around 2 p.m. Wednesday. Panel Chairman Asmatara of the union council distributed the items on behalf of the council.

Council Secretary Faisal Ahmed, Union Family Planning Inspector Ashiul Ishraq, sub-assistant community medical officer Amir Hamza and health workers Nazmun Nahar and Nahida Akter, along with members of the union council, were present.

The distributed medicines will be made available to rural residents through the union health and family planning center and community clinics, officials said.
