DHAKA — Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul said the government will make clear within three to four days how it intends to implement the July Charter.
Nazrul spoke to reporters Tuesday after a consultation on amendments to the Legal Aid Provision Ordinance at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in the capital.
“We had expected the political parties to talk among themselves and give us a unified direction,” Nazrul said. “But we did not sit waiting on that expectation. We have done our own work. The steps we have taken on implementing the charter will become clear within the next three to four days.”
“We are discussing this at various levels of the Council of Advisers,” he said. “We are trying to do what is needed in the interest of the country and the people, balancing the expectations of all parties.”
