Dengue kills 2 in Bangladesh, 705 new patients hospitalized

DHAKA — Two people died of dengue and 705 patients were admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

The data was released Monday, Nov. 24, by the directorate’s Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room.

Of those hospitalized in the past 24 hours, 62 were in the Barishal division (outside city corporations), 116 in the Chattogram division (outside city corporations), 137 in the Dhaka division (outside city corporations), 171 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 77 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 34 in the Khulna division (outside city corporations), 53 in the Mymensingh division (outside city corporations), 34 in the Rajshahi division (outside city corporations), 5 in the Rangpur division (outside city corporations) and 16 in the Sylhet division (outside city corporations).

A total of 366 people have died of dengue so far this year.

A total of 90,969 dengue patients have been hospitalized this year, of whom 62.3 percent are men and 37.7 percent are women.
