NABINAGAR, Brahmanbaria — Kazi Nazmul Hossain Tapas, the BNP nominee for the Brahmanbaria-5 (Nabinagar) seat in the 11th parliamentary election and economic affairs secretary of the district BNP, has collected a nomination form for the upcoming 13th parliamentary election.
Local BNP leaders and activists collected the form on his behalf on Thursday afternoon from Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Nabinagar upazila executive officer and assistant returning officer.
Nabinagar upazila election officer Swapan Kumar Bhowmik and other officials were present. Party leaders and activists showed enthusiasm over the form collection. They said Tapas was a strong candidate in the seat in terms of public engagement and popularity.
Tapas is the son of Alhaj Kazi Mohammad Anwar Hossain, a four-time former member of parliament. “I am hopeful that, in shaa Allah, the party will consider the work I have put in for it,” Tapas said.
The BNP earlier gave its initial nomination for the Brahmanbaria-5 Nabinagar seat to upazila BNP president and lawyer M.A. Mannan.
