U.S. journalist and political commentator Tucker Carlson says the Trump administration could launch a nuclear strike on Iran within days under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Carlson said the target could be “Pickaxe Mountain” in central Iran.

Carlson said Israeli intelligence claims Iran has resumed uranium enrichment at an underground facility about 300 feet below the mountain. Netanyahu is pressing for a nuclear strike, he said, arguing that conventional U.S. weapons cannot destroy the facilities.

He said Netanyahu depends on President Donald Trump’s support to remain in power amid Israel’s domestic political crisis and is pressing senior U.S. officials to intensify the war against Iran.

Carlson warned that a nuclear strike could cause a catastrophe across the Middle East. A blast at an underground facility could spread radioactive contamination and threaten water sources for millions of people around the Persian Gulf. It could also disrupt global fuel and fertilizer supplies.

He said a U.S. nuclear strike on Iran would raise the risk of nuclear weapons being used again around the world. Russia, Pakistan, India and North Korea could cite the event to justify their own use of nuclear weapons, he said, sharply increasing the danger of a third world war.

Carlson said Vice President JD Vance and special envoy Steve Witkoff favor reaching an agreement with Iran through talks. He said diplomacy should remain open as an alternative to war.
