DHAKA — Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is holding talks with district and city-level presidents and general secretaries of three BNP affiliate organizations — Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Sechchasebak Dal.
The meeting began at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at the Krishibid Institute auditorium in Dhaka. Tarique Rahman joined virtually around 11 a.m. Party sources said this is his first major organizational meeting with grassroots leaders since he took office as prime minister.
District presidents and general secretaries from Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Sechchasebak Dal and city leaders attended the meeting. Tarique Rahman is expected to give important directions on maintaining party discipline, energizing organizational activities, resolving local infighting and restoring the chain of command.
Party sources said the meeting will urge grassroots leaders to work more actively and in unity to carry out future political programs.
BNP senior joint general secretary and political adviser to the prime minister Ruhul Kabir Rizvi inspected the venue on Friday afternoon ahead of the meeting. Briefing reporters, he said Tarique Rahman would outline a roadmap to boost organizational dynamism through the meeting.
