Rupganj thana police arrested two drug traffickers with 184 bottles of Scoff cough syrup in a raid in Rupganj, Narayanganj.
They were arrested during an operation in the Barabo area of Tarabo municipality, under Rupganj thana, around 10:30pm Friday (September 11).
Those arrested were Billal Hossain, 55, son of the late Kutub Uddin of Prakpur area in Daulatpur thana, Kushtia district, and Rasel, 35, son of Tazul Islam of Kalakanda area in Matlab thana, Chandpur district. They had been living as tenants in the Barabo area of Tarabo municipality, Rupganj.
According to reports, an operational team led by ASI (unarmed) Hafizul Islam, acting on the instructions of Narayanganj District Superintendent of Police Md Habibur Rahman and under the supervision of Rupganj thana OC A H M Salauddin, carried out the operation in the Barabo area of Tarabo municipality. Billal and Rasel were arrested with 184 bottles of Scoff during the operation.
OC Salauddin said a regular case has been filed against those arrested under the Narcotics Control Act. They were later sent to court.
He said operations by Rupganj thana police and the wider Narayanganj district police against drugs and all forms of crime will continue.
