4 youths held with 165 yaba pills in Muladi, sent to jail

Police in Muladi, Barisal, arrested four young men with 165 pieces of yaba in separate operations. The four were sent to jail through the court on Sunday afternoon.

They were detained late Saturday night from ward 6 of Muladi municipality and the Terchar area of ward 5.

Police sources said that, acting on tip-off, a raid was carried out in the cinema hall area of the municipality, detaining Md Aminul Khan, 35, son of Sultan Khan of Sholghar village, ward 7, Charkalekhan union; Abdus Salam Khan, 48, son of the late Ismail Khan of the same area; and Sajal Dorjee, 28, son of Delwar Dorjee of West Charpattanibhanga village in Muladi municipality.

A search recovered a total of 160 yaba tablets from the three of them.

In a separate operation in the Terchar area of ward 5 of the municipality, Yusuf Pathan, 20, was detained with five yaba pills. He is the son of Salam Pathan of the same area.

Confirming the incident, Muladi police station officer-in-charge Khandaker Md Sohel Rana said two separate cases had been filed at the police station under the Narcotics Control Act against the four young men arrested with yaba. They were sent to jail through the court on Sunday afternoon.

He said such police operations to eliminate drug users and dealers would continue.
