The government has carried out a major reshuffle in the land administration. Thirty-six assistant commissioners (land) of the BCS Administration Cadre have been transferred and placed under the offices of various divisional commissioners pending posting.
A separate notification in this regard was issued by the Land Ministry’s Field Administration-2 branch on Sept. 2. The notification stated that the order, issued in the public interest, would take effect immediately.
According to the notification, among the transferred officials, Jasim Uddin was placed under the Dhaka division from Sadullapur in Gaibandha, Tauhid Reza was placed under the Dhaka division from Maheshpur in Jhenaidah, and Md. Masud Rana was placed under the Dhaka division from Raiganj in Sirajganj.
Also, Md. Ashraful Islam was placed under the Dhaka division from Amtali in Barguna, Sohag Milu was placed under the Khulna division from Bauphal in Patuakhali, Md. Saiful Islam was placed under the Rajshahi division from Galachipa in Patuakhali, and Prattoy Hashem was placed under the Chattogram division from Nabiganj in Habiganj.
Maheshwar Mondal was placed under the Khulna division from Uzirpur in Barishal, Rowshan Kabir was placed under the Rajshahi division from Dimla in Nilphamari, Rafiur Rahman was placed under the Dhaka division from Roumari in Kurigram, and Md. Shahrukh Alam Shanto was placed under the Dhaka division from Tahirpur in Sunamganj.
Among the officials transferred in a second round is Mahmud Hussain Raju, placed under the Khulna division from Parbatipur in Dinajpur. Nusrat Jahan Ananya was placed under the Rajshahi division from Dhobaura in Mymensingh, and S.M. Akash was placed under the Khulna division from Tetulia in Panchagarh.
S.M. Nazmus Salehin was placed under the Rangpur division from Tarakanda in Mymensingh, Abdul Ahad was placed under the Khulna division from Ashtagram in Kishoreganj, and Tanvir Ahmed was placed under the Rajshahi division from Pirganj in Rangpur.
In addition, Omar Sharif Khan was placed under the Khulna division from Patharghata in Barguna, Asif Raihan was placed under the Dhaka division from Sathia in Pabna, Chowdhury Al Mamun was placed under the Rajshahi division from Debhata in Satkhira, and Samiur Rahman was placed under the Dhaka division from Rajarhat in Kurigram.
Mir Al Mansur Shoaib was placed under the Rajshahi division from Lalmonirhat Sadar, Md. Shamim Reza Sajib was placed under the Dhaka division from Rajapur in Jhalokati, Mojibur Rahman was placed under the Rajshahi division from Ranisankail in Thakurgaon, and Zakaria Hossain was placed under the Mymensingh division from Gowainghat in Sylhet.
Saikat Mondal was placed under the Khulna division from Taltali in Barguna, and Rizvi Ahmed Sabuj was placed under the Dhaka division from Nalchity in Jhalokati.
In another part of the notification, nine more assistant commissioners were transferred. Among them, Md. Iftekhar Ahmed was placed under the Khulna division from Jaldhaka in Nilphamari, Abdullah Bin Zia was placed under the Dhaka division from Debiganj in Panchagarh, and Mahmudur Rahman was placed under the Mymensingh division from Bishwambharpur in Sunamganj.
Palash Uddin was placed under the Dhaka division from Badalgachhi in Naogaon, Shapath Boiragi was placed under the Khulna division from Nazirpur in Pirojpur, and Md. Badruzzaman Rishad was placed under the Rajshahi division from Nageshwari in Kurigram.
Also, Asmaul Husna Pinky was placed under the Dhaka division from Sreepur in Magura, Aminul Haque Tareq was placed under the Mymensingh division from Bhurungamari in Kurigram, and Abdullah Al Mamun was placed under the Dhaka division from Dashmina in Patuakhali.
The Land Ministry’s notification said the order, issued in the public interest, would take effect immediately. Copies of the notification have been sent to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, the chairman of the Land Reform Board, the additional secretary (field administration) of the Land Ministry, and the relevant divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners for necessary action.
The post of assistant commissioner (land) at the field-administration level is important for land management. These officials handle a range of responsibilities at the field level, including mutation, land development tax, management of government land, and other land-related administrative functions.
The simultaneous transfer of 36 assistant commissioners thus amounts to a reorganization of land-administration responsibilities across various regions of the country.
Under the government order, the transferred officials have been placed under the offices of the respective divisional commissioners. After the necessary formalities are completed at the divisional level, arrangements will be made for them to take up their new postings.
