BNP acting secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said the Moheshkhali gas terminal is currently shut down due to a technical fault. “Efforts are underway to fix it, and it is expected to return to normal soon. On the other hand, a unit at Adani Power’s plant in India’s Jharkhand has broken down, disrupting power supply from there as well,” he said.
He made the comments at a discussion titled “The country’s ongoing crisis and the duty of patriotic forces,” organised by the 12-party alliance at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on Saturday afternoon.
Rizvi said: “Technical faults keep happening one after another, with a unit shutting down somewhere or other — why is this happening? People have started asking questions. Whether this is some kind of incident, a mystery, sabotage or a conspiracy is also something we need to think about.”
The BNP acting secretary general said the government is paying the dues owed to power plants. Under the power agreement with India, its dues are also being paid. Despite this, he said, it is natural for people to wonder why problems keep occurring one after another.
