More than 100 meritorious students who achieved GPA-5 in the SSC and equivalent examinations were honoured in Fulbari, Kurigram.
The reception was organised by Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir’s Fulbari upazila unit at the upazila model mosque hall on Saturday (September 12) afternoon. Students who achieved GPA-5 from various educational institutions in the upazila took part.
The chief guest at the event was Mobasher Rashedin, Kurigram district secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir. Also present were district student welfare secretary Bayzid Khan, former student leader Engineer Abdus Salam Suja, Fulbari upazila president Miraj Hossain, secretary Belal Hossain, former Rangpur metropolitan publicity secretary Sohel Rana, and former Kurigram district publicity secretary Abdul Halim Rana.
Speakers congratulated the meritorious students, saying that alongside good results, students must embrace ethics, honesty and patriotism. They called on students to make themselves capable for the welfare of the nation and country, and to play a role in building an ideal society and a prosperous nation.
At the close of the event, guests presented honorary crests, books and gifts to the GPA-5 achievers. Chhatra Shibir leaders and activists at various upazila levels, local dignitaries, guardians and students were present.
