A major reshuffle has been carried out at the senior levels of Bangladesh Police. Thirty-one officers of the BCS (police) cadre have been transferred and posted in three separate notifications issued by the police-1 branch of the home ministry. The notifications rearrange officers at the levels of additional DIG, DIG, superintendent of police, additional superintendent of police and deputy commissioner of police across various units. Issued on Tuesday, the notifications transfer and post officers from their current stations to various ranges, metropolitan police forces, the APBN, CID, tourist police, railway police, industrial police, training centres and posts at police headquarters.
In one notification, Mohammad Enamul Haque, additional police commissioner (supernumerary DIG) of SMP Sylhet, has been posted as additional DIG to the APBN and Specialised Training Centre in Khagrachhari. The same order posts highway police DIG Habibur Rahman Khan as commandant (DIG), TTM, Dhaka, and SMP additional DIG Mohammad Anisur Rahman to the range DIG’s office in Khulna. Additional DIG Md Riaz Uddin Ahmed, on special duty, has been posted to the range DIG’s office in Rangpur, and Mohammad Jasim Uddin, serving as special officer on duty, has been attached to the range DIG’s office in Rajshahi.
In another notification, Md Badruzzaman, an officer at deputy director level in RAB, has been posted as superintendent of police in Nilphamari; Noakhali superintendent of police Md Nazirul Islam as special superintendent of police, CID, in Mymensingh; and RAB deputy director Mir Monir Hossain as superintendent of police in Rajbari. The order also transfers several more officers to various posts in Rajshahi, Meherpur, Rangamati, the tourist police, the APBN and police headquarters. Supernumerary superintendent of police Md Nurul Amin Howlader has also been posted to the Police Staff College at police headquarters.
The third notification transfers and posts 16 officers. Among them, Gazipur Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Mohammad Mohiul Islam has been posted as special superintendent of police, CID, and Gazipur Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed as deputy commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police. Officers at superintendent and additional superintendent level have also been given responsibilities in various units including the CID, PTC Rangpur, the highway police, the industrial police, police telecom, the tourist police, the railway police and the Khulna and Barisal ranges.
In addition, an earlier notification transferring Shahriar Al Mamun as deputy commissioner of police, SMP, Sylhet has been cancelled. The home ministry notifications say the orders, issued in the public interest, take effect immediately.
